We are pleased to say that Menominee Conservation Districts is one of only 5 communities selected to participate in Climate Solutions University's 2014 Plan Development Program!  

Preparing a community for climate adaptation is critical. Smart planning protects citizens from floods and drought, conserves water resources, preserves watershed health, stabilizes micro- climates, maintains species habitat, preserves the economy, and ensures community climate resilience.

This program is a 2 part program: Plan Development & Plan Implementation.  As a participant we will:

•  Create a forest & water climate adaptation plan for Menominee County. 
  
•  Build public support and implement the plans.
  
•  Create and engage a local planning team.
  
•  Conduct a local climate, forest, water, and economic SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).

Alaina Hall is our first annual Jack & the Beanstalk winner!  Alaina helped grandma plant the bean seeds and enjoys the finished product!  For winning our contest Alaina received a gift certificate to our 2014 Spring Tree Sale.
